Massive “Spooky” asteroid to pass near Earth on Halloween
A large asteroid, which was named 2015 TB145, will pass very close to Earth right on Halloween day, according to a press release from NASA. The agency did not know anything about this cosmic boulder until ten days ago, on Oct.10, when it was discovered by the Pan-STARRS observer in Hawaii.
The close passing of asteroid 2015 TB145, also called “Spooky” because it will be in the vicinity of our planet just for Halloween, it is the last of a celestial body of this size until 2027. The diameter of “Spooky” is estimated between 290 and 650 meters.

“This asteroid passing through our neighborhood is a great opportunity to study its physical properties,” say scientists at NASA. The asteroid will travel at the speed of 125,500 km/h and “appears to be one of the best radar targets of the year.”
