French President Francois Hollande said on Saturday that there is still time for avoiding a civil war in Syria, claiming that it would be “the worst” scenario, according to AFP.
Russia and China “block any Security Council resolution” of the UN which is now struggling to find a solution to the violent outburst in Syria, complained the French President in a televised interview aired on July 14, the National Day of France.

According to the French President, the “Friends of Syria” summit organized in Paris on July 6, “gathered the leaders of half of the worldwide countries and it was generally agreed that the pressure on Bashar al-Assad dismissal should continue in order to have a political transition.”
