According to the posted message, Paul Walker, aged 40, was the passenger of a red Porsche GT sports car driven by a friend identified as Roger Rodas. The driver lost control of the vehicle in the Valencia community in northern Los Angeles. The car veered off the road, hit a tree and burst into flames. Both passengers were pronounced dead at the scene on the arrival of the rescue teams.

He was a passenger in a car driven by a friend. Both lost their lives.
