Microsoft has appointed Indian Satya Nadella as company’s CEO and unveiled that founder Bill Gates will quit as chair of the board. (scroll down for VIDEOS with Nadella and Gates)

Satya Nadella worked at Microsoft for 22 years and was actively involved in the corporate business of the software company since 1992. In recent years, the “cloud and enterprise” department led by Nadella, was one of the most competitive divisions of Microsoft.

Microsoft announced that founder Bill Gates will collaborate intensively with Satya Nadella but from a technical adviser position. The role of Microsoft’s chairman, will be played by former Symantec CEO and current board member, John Thompson. Gates and Ballmer will remain in the governing board of the IT giant.
