The fact that Russia is preparing for war, was proven by military exercises with heavy ammunition conducted by the Russian Navy at the Baltic Sea in Leningrad region on Monday. Dozens Russian warships and submarine took part in exercises. President Vladimir Putin himself came to attend army’s live fire training which involved numerous Russian tanks and armored vehicles.
Putin made his afternoon arrival at Kirilovsky airfield in western Russia supervising a large-scale military drills. Putin, escorted by the Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and the chief of the Russian army’s department of combat preparation Ivan Buvaltsev, watched naval warships and land troops conducting live fire training, the Russia’s Defense Ministry said.
Meanwhile, in Crimea, the approximately 15,000 Russian soldiers took over control of Ukrainian military bases and region’s airports.
