Nico Rosberg wins Singapore Grand Prix to become new F1 leader

Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) managed to claim Formula 1 Grand Prix trophy in Singapore for the first time in his career, after starting the race from pole position. The German won by a small margin against Daniel Ricciardo of the RedBull. The third place was earned by Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes.

With his victory at “Marina Bay Street Circuit” in Singapore, Rosberg has reached his 200 career race milestone and gathered 273 points this season thus surpassing his teammate Lewis Hamilton (265 points) in the overall rankings.

Singapore Grand Prix did not lack accidents as drivers piled up behind a slow-starting Max Verstappen and crashed into each other at the very start of the race. Force India driver Nico Hülkenberg smashed his vehicle into the wall, bringing out the safety car immediately.
