Websites of Russian hacking group REvil went enigmatically offline

Just days after US President Biden called on Russia to take action against hackers, the ransomware websites associated with the Russia-based hacking group REvil, also known as Sodinokibi, have mysteriously gone offline, CNBC reports. It is yet unknown what has caused the outages of the dark web sites.

Last week, Biden asked Russian President Putin to act more aggressively against Russian cybercriminals. The call came after multiple cyberattacks crippled the US companies’ critical infrastructure such as power supply, internet access, drinking water and payments.
