Paris terror mastermind caught: Jihadist Salah Abdeslam wounded and arrested in Molenbeek, Brussels

Salah Abdeslam, the main suspect behind last November’s deadly Paris attacks, was reportedly captured alive in Brussels on Friday, during a counter-terrorism operation carried out by the Belgian police. Belgium’s state broadcaster reported that the 26-year-old Abdeslam was injured in a shootout that ended with his capture.

A major operation was ongoing in the Brussels neighborhood of Molenbeek on Friday, announced the federal prosecutor of Belgium, and local newspaper La Derniere Heure reported that there was a fire exchange in which one person was killed and two others injured including Salah Abdeslam. After several hours, the Belgian authorities confirmed that the notorious jihadist was wounded and detained.

According to Belgian media, ten gunshots were heard near the Molenbeek home raided during the police operation.
