KLM has decided to accelerate the retirement of the six remaining Boeing 747 aircraft. The jumbo jets were scheduled to continue flying until the summer of 2021, but due to the corona crisis, the iconic aircraft is being removed from the active fleet earlier.

“We do not know exactly when, but this will happen in the very short term,” said a KLM spokesman on Friday.
