Romanian politician and MEP Monica Luisa Macovei posted to her Facebook page a touching video that may be viewed as a benchmark to people’s right to vote, which is in fact a fundamental right within the European Union, right?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Macovei depicts the ordeal experienced by her countrymen in front of a polling station in Paris, France, Sunday evening. <\/p>\n

Her Facebook message reads: “Images that could not be seen on Ponta’s friendly televisions. After 21.00 hrs, these people were driven away from the polling station with tear gas.<\/p>\n

How could Romanian Ambassador to France, Bogdan Mazuru, call for the gendarmes to act against his own citizens? Instead of stepping forward before people he represents and taking over all their complaints and reproaches, Mazuru opted to hide inside an embassy secured by troops and tear gas. Orso the 1989 Revolution began in Timisoara with the assault on so-called “hooligans” who “broke bookstores’ windows”. Then and now the “hooligans” changed Romania. Free and united people can transform Romania”<\/em>, added Macovei.<\/p>\n

In the end voters’ will prevailed and their presidential favorite Klaus Iohannis claimed victory to become Romania’s 5th President!<\/p>\n
