A family in China does not want to move the final resting place of a relative from the site where a skyscraper will be constructed. The workers began the construction and are forced to build up around the grave.

A grave disrupts work on a huge building site after a family refused to have it moved.

Builders have had to leave a 33ft mound with the burial plot and headstone on top as the foundations are dug out around it at the site in China.

According to the Mirror, the builders had to dig the foundation without touching the tomb. They left a 10-meter mound with a headstone suspended on top as the infrastructure catches shape around. The weird event takes place in the city of Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi province in China.

Burial site owners do not ever want to re-locate the grave on ground that the cemetery has been there for many years and consider that the reward is too small. They were offered the amount of one million yen, equivalent to over one hundred thousand euros, but refused the money.

Nobody knows yet what the completed building will look like and how the land owners will access their confined cemetery.

The case is reminiscent of another dispute a month ago, when a Chinese couple in Wenling, Zhejiang province, refused to leave their house which was located in the middle of a streetway and the incident became a true phenomenon on the internet.

Workers wanted the house demolished in order to build a road to a new railway station but the family opposed their intentions.

They were constrained to go further building the access way around the house. Unfortunately, after the pictures emerged on the internet, the house was torn down in early December.

Seen as a symbol of freedom, the 67-year-old owner lost his battle, and was forced to move away.

However, the Chinese government promised him financial aid to build a new house.

Laws are now more strict in China where it is illegal to take down property by force without an understanding.
